It helps you to be more present and relieve symptoms and discomfort of all kinds: Discover the importance of conscious nutrition

Did you know that conscious nutrition can help you be more present and relieve symptoms and discomfort of all kinds? Today, from Sincronia Yoga, we explain the importance of the conscious nutrition for the practice of yoga.

The practice of yoga

In the West we always talk about the yoga practice, as if it were a series of exercises or routines. If you are already a practitioner, you will have realized that yoga goes far beyond the postures and the movements linked.

The discipline of yoga aims at a holistic understanding of our entire being, from the most tangible and gross, such as the physical body, to the most subtle and energetic. Thousands of years ago, Hindu sages, through meditation and intuition, discovered the relationship between all these bodies and the importance of caring for them.

What is the importance of conscious nutrition for the body and mind?

To do this they developed and experimented with techniques of balance, others of moderation and also energizers or of cleaning, all of which would form the basis of what we know as yoga. Placing the physical, mental and spiritual bodies on the same level.

Mind, body, vital energy, everything aligned for you inner well-being, to find yourself on this path of personal growth.

Nutrition of the physical body

Body care also includes: conscious nutrition and we explain why.

To this body, or kosha in Sanskrit, is called annamaya kosha, etymologically Anna It is seed and annamaya It is translated as that formed of food or material. Our material envelope or body, where vital processes shape physical existence.

We inhabit a body formed by the food. Therefore, this body that we inhabit must be cared for through healthy habits. It is our transportation around the world.

What we eat constitutes either will constitute our physical bodyA healthy diet, well cared for and proportional to the activities we do every day, regenerates and cares for us from within.

It is, therefore, one of the yoga bases, take care of our vehicle through the conscious nutrition that feeds us and allows us to nourish ourselves prana or life energy.

The importance of conscious nutrition

Some of the hormonal imbalances, mental Y emotional that we experience throughout our lives are caused or aggravated by our diet. We are talking about thyroid problems, inflammatory processes, intestinal permeability, reflux and acidity, etc.

The nutrition It goes far beyond mere aesthetic fit. Nourish yourself Y mother you through food is an act of self-esteemYou learn to take care of yourself, simply because you love yourself. You love yourself and take care of yourself. According to yoga, the energy of the third chakra, the solar plexus, is the most related to the processes of nutrition, digestion Y assimilation. This chakra contains personal power, the self with selfless action and movement.

Much of the prana either vital energy with which we move through the world and which circulates through our body, is regenerated daily. It is obtained from air (conscious breathing), of food (conscious nutrition), from rest (regeneration) and sunlight (external prana).

Conscious nutrition: Find mental and physical balance

So, as we have seen, the importance of conscious nutrition resides in:

  • Constitution of the physical body.
  • Regulation of hormonal, digestive and immunological processes.
  • Self-esteem and care.
  • Obtaining prana or vital energy.
  • Inner balance.

There is no good or bad nutrition., nor a single option. We can imagine that the diet of a long-distance runner will not be the same as that of a newborn, a pregnant woman or a professional chess player.

Even women experience different nutritional needs during the same month, since we do not have the same ones during menstruation as during the follicular phase.

So, you might be wondering what conscious nutrition is.

What is conscious nutrition?

This is a balanced diet, rich and varied in nutrients, that covers your energy needs without leaving aside the emotional component of nutrition.

According to him ayurveda exist three types of physical constitution that influence our tendency, needs and what type of diet is healthier for us. We talk about them in the article, Properties of Ayurvedic massage and therapy. Constitutions are called doshas and there are three:

  • Vata. Composed of air and space. It is a dry, light, cold, subtle, penetrating and mobile constitution. Regulates movement in the body.
  • Pitta. Compound of fire and water. It is hot, light, fluid, mobile and oily. Regulates the transformation.
  • Kapha. Composed of earth and water. It is cold, heavy, opaque, oily, dense, soft, static and thick. It gives stability and structure.

According to the constitution that influences us the most, imbalance can be routed through the feeding. Hence the importance of conscious nutrition.

For example, if we have a constitution “kapha”, oily and cold, Eating prepared foods with lots of oil and ice cream will increase our tendency and therefore exaggerate our inconvenience, such as mucus, acne, etc. It will be better to introduce warm and comforting drinks, regulate and reduce oils.

Also, as we mentioned, the nutrition is related to take care of ourselves and love ourselves. So there are no punishments, prohibitions and impositions, but neither is there any attempt to replace emotions with food.

We learn to enjoy conscious, slow nutrition, according to our being and our needs, where you can savor life through foods rich in nutrients that are beneficial for your body.
