You arrive at Sincronia Yoga, you prepare in the changing rooms and you enter with margin in the room. The music is already playing and in a few moments you prepare with your mat, the block, the blanket…
Maider starts the class focusing the body through the meditation posture, closes your eyes and invites you to guide your practice by giving you time to be with yourself and in this space. After connecting with the Om, a premise enters my consciousness: me with my mat, just as if I entered an ocean to surf with my board. And that’s where the first flow starts.
We heat extremities, prepare the body and, suddenly, we are already doing Surya Namaskar and the first positions. What is a basic natarajana, becomes an unconscious referent for the whole class. In less than a few seconds, we are in a variant of classic postures; what is a Vrkasana tree is transformed into a game of balances, challenges and games with our concentration and determination in practice. We adjusted the volume of Radiohead’s music with the intention of not falling. It is this state of attention I find the greatest challenge: if my mind goes to other places, I lose my balance and the change between one posture and the other becomes a suffering. The more I am there, the more fun I find. Mindfulness in dance through yoga postures. What a challenge! And as the class becomes more complex, I get frustrated and sometimes I realize it. Success does not come from reaching the ideal position: rather, satisfaction comes to me when I am there, present in the proposal of the profe, in that flow of life that I manage to materialize with these dance asanas. And follow the movement, follow the different transitions, the game and the strength of breathing the postures. When I see that I do not follow the rhythm, that the class is too big, I stop and watch my classmates. Some of them, trained for years to follow the flow of yoga, whether coming from schools more Hatha or more Vinyasa. The important thing is to continue learning from others, from the teacher and from oneself. The limit serves as a basis to push me to explore new internal horizons and to become reality as I practice and lose balance with the latest proposals of today’s class. Tomorrow we will see how it flows.
If you want a fun, fluid, challenging and experimental practice with the basics of yoga, the Vinyasa Flow classes by Sincronia Yoga are the fantastic space for this. A moment to play and dance with yoga through the flow and with versions of the most current and seductive songs of recent times, of course! Yoga is life, gratitude, presence and fun. I close my eyes again, I see my mat as the magic carpet of oriental legends. A symbol of the external in my inner space, my body, my emotions and my mind.
