- MOUNAM - Yoga Retreat in South India

MOUNAM / Silence and meditation

The true silence (monam) is not only the absence of external sounds, there can be an absence of sounds in the environment but an interior chaos of deafening noise… and on the contrary there can be an exterior chaos populated with all kinds of sounds and yet an imperturbable silence inside… That is the true silence, the one that is achieved in the encounter with the Being, with the serene mind and the calm emotions, and it is beautiful because it contains everything, it is the antecedent of any event, the calm lake where all kinds of waves can manifest themselves… It is the premise of all creation, the source of any possibility…

In the silence we can meet again with our purest essence, tune our mind in tune with the heart and the deep feeling, so that when we produce new sounds again, they will be pure songs of the soul and not mental and chaotic distortions caused by noise and confusion… Just like the immobile string of an instrument, which in its inert state free of vibrations lies serene without producing any sound, and which needs silence in order to be tuned and enter into tune… So tune your strings, in silence, so that you can sing and fully enjoy in harmony and without distortion the symphony of your heart.

The great “Bhārata” is the name India is called by in its traditional language. The land where the knowledge of yoga is born as a fruit of its millenary traditions, a country of unfathomable mysticism, of fascinating stories that in its entrails contain the greatest of treasures; the longed-for philosophical stone of supreme knowledge, the realization of the being, the ultimate goal of existence… Land of sages, of saints, of paradisiacal landscapes and exuberant nature, land of contrasts and colors, of the sweetness of khir and the bitterness of karela, land of a thousand flavors…

Tiruvannamalai also known as Arunachala, is one of the largest Sivaita shrines in Tamil Nadu, India. The mountain is considered a manifestation of Shiva. Tiruvannamalai is one of the Panchabhoota Stalams which are the 5 elements of wind (Kalahasti), water (Tiruvanaikkal), fire (Tiruvannamalai), earth (Thiruvarur) and space (Chidambaram).

The retreat is designed to enable you to acquire knowledge and practice that will help you and give you more tools to further your personal development.
