Alba Sanz

“Life is for living not to understanding”

Shri Guruji Swami Vivekananda

With a degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics in 2005, Alba landed in Bombay on July 2007 with the intention, to travel, to learn and to know herself (although she believes one of the gifts of traveling alone, is the company of those who you meet along the way).

That first trip to India lasted 6 months and was her first contact with yoga, in an ashram of Master Sivananda at the foot of the Himalayas, with an octogenarian Japanese teacher. During the same trip, she experienced a 15-day silent retreat in a Buddhist monastery, right in the village where Buddha was illuminated and where the Bhoo tree is (Boodhgaya). During that time, she completed a teaching course and Buddhist meditation experience, eating vegetarian, and maintaining a state of silence.

In 2008, just after she returned from this trip, she trained in Ayurvedic massage and therapy at the Shri Vivek Yoga centre in Barcelona, with the yogi Jivan Vismay . While also practicing the same style and philosophy. Two years later she decided to start coaching Shri Vivek Yoga Integral, over between India and Barcelona with the master Swami Vivekananda and the yogi Jivan Vismay. Learning both daily yoga practice, and its integration into an entire lifestyle.

Alba has returned to India almost every year, continuing to practice various styles of yoga and meditation, with a variety of teachers and friends. There have been many teachers and yogis who have influenced her vision and practice of yoga as it constantly grows, including:

– Patricia González (Medha), instructor of Shri Vivek Yoga Integral from 2010.

– Vanina Andrés and Sebastián Tichelli, instructors of Yoga Integral, Kundalini Yoga and Ayurveda therapists.

– Rochelle Mello, instructor of Yoga Sivananda.

– Surinder Singh, Hatha yoga, Rishikesh (India)

– Veronica Belloli, Hatha Iyengar Yoga (Buenos Aires, Argentina).

– Swami Digambaranda Saraswati, Danilo Hernández, Madrid and Barcelona.

Alba has been sharing her practice since January 2014, with a combination of the different styles she has been exposed to in the last 9 years forming her personal practice and the way she shares her classes. She continues to learn Shri Vivek Yoga, both with her spiritual master Shri Guruji Swami Vivekananda at the Ashram of Kadhana (India) as with the Yogi Jivan Vismay, attending courses, retreats and seminars in Barcelona.
